so, im happy with howie / mrazek combo for sure, i mean theres not much to complain about

i wonder how much of their performance is built off the other? like how much does howard really want to play his best because he honestly has a starter trying to take his job and mrazek wants to play his best to take howies job?

My take on it.

Mrazek is just plain good.

Howie has been inconsistent in his career. He's had hot streaks and cold ones. This could be a hot one. Or he could be desperate to not lose his job. I personally think, Mrazek has been good for him, and he trained harder this off season, losing 11 or 12 pounds. But at the same time, I think he'll get complacent. I am a true Howard hater, but this year he has been very very good. If he can keep it up, great! But they won't be able to keep him and Mrazek for too long. I still hope it's Howard that goes. But at this rate, both are amazing trade bait.

i feel the opposite about howie, although i can agree hes been inconsistent i think hes a very good goalie and just gets a worse wrap than he deserves, i would normally say they should trade howie tho because mrazek is the guy going forward and id like them to make upgrades somewhere else, however they dont have a true back up right now.

Paul definitely underates Howard, we've already went over this a few weeks ago together. I personally like Howard when he's playing well, and he's played pretty damn well most of his career despite how inconsistent you think he's been. I think we ride this wave of two competitive guys pushing eachother for the rest of this season (or until one pulls ahead of the other) then ship Howie out in the off season and make it Mrazek's time.
